Tau Pathfinders fighting entrenched Grand Terran Imperial Legionaries
The Second Battle of Geonosis took place in the Second War in XXXX NE, namely during the Filo Campaigns, when the Alliance of Civilizations launched a full-scale planetary invasion of Geonosis to shut down several Imperialist battle droid foundries that Kaiserin Hassen had built there after the Grand Terran Empire conquered Geonosis during the first wave of the Invasions. Following Cassandra's discovery of the droid factories, the Alliance dispatched a massive detachment of the Grand Army of the Republic to retake Geonosis and halt the facilities' production of battle droids. Tasked with the challenge of landing on the planet and establishing a staging area, the Allies mounted a three-pronged attack on the Imperalist Captured Geonosian defenses in what became known as the Battle of Point Rain.
