The Tiifal-class Defense Field Frigate was the most unique and extraordinary aspect of Taiidan technology to put out in years. Inspired by the success of the Koshiir-Ra-class Defense Fighter the Tiifal uses the frigate hull and power plant to support a revolutionary defense field, far more advanced than the Koshiir-Ra’s defense laser. The defense field is based on electromagnetic waves emitted from a generator in the bow of the ship. The defense field, which has a limited usage time must be recharged after running out of power. The EM field is strong but not strong enough to repel ion cannon. In addition, slow-moving ammunition like mines or missiles are also not repelled. Even so, the Tiifal is truly the most effective protection against strike craft attacks, despite its expense.
